Winpak Heat Seal is looking for a Warehouse Assistant Supervisor to support the team.
The Warehouse Assistant Supervisor is responsible for the daily leadership and coordination of warehouse, shipping/receiving, and transportation operations. This role serves as a key link between Customer Service, Planning, and Shipping by managing transportation systems, carrier performance, and shipment execution across multiple locations.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations
  • Supervise warehouse and shipping personnel to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations across all shifts
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, including carrier scheduling and transportation logistics
  • Manage daily staffing, workflow priorities, and shipment execution across multiple plant locations
  • Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counts, discrepancy resolution, FIFO practices, and proper material handling procedures
Systems, Compliance & Customer Support
  • Maintain accurate transportation, shipping, customs, and regulatory documentation in compliance with company and audit requirements
  • Manage Transportation Management System (TMS) data accuracy, including EDI transactions and freight rate maintenance
  • Respond to customer and internal inquiries related to shipments, logistics, inventory, and transportation activities
  • Support customs compliance activities, including tariff classifications and international shipment requirements
Leadership & Continuous Improvement
  • Enforce company policies, safety standards, GMP, SQF, and ISO requirements
  • Support CAPA investigations, operational problem-solving, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Assist with employee training, coaching, performance management, and departmental accountability, including disciplinary actions
  • Coordinate maintenance or IT-related issues impacting warehouse and transportation operations and perform additional duties as assigned by the Department Manager
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in warehouse, shipping, receiving, transportation, or logistics operations
  • 2+ years of experience in a formal or informal leadership role
  • 3+ years of experience working with warehouse management systems (WMS), transportation management systems (TMS), or ERP systems
  • 3+ years of experience coordinating carriers, shipment scheduling, and transportation logistics
  • 2+ years of experience supporting inventory management, cycle counts, and discrepancy resolution
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment with GMP, SQF, ISO, or similar quality and safety standards
  • Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer-based operational systems
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting customs documentation, tariff classifications, and international shipment requirements
  • Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field
  • APICS or other supply chain certifications
Working Conditions
This position operates in both a warehouse and office environment with moderate to high noise levels. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required while in production and warehouse areas. The role involves frequent computer use, walking, standing, and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
Compensation Range: $60,000-$75,000. The compensation range provided is a general guideline only. Pay will be determined based on the candidate's experience and expertise and is subject to vary.
