Continuous Improvement Specialist

Winpak Heat Seal is seeking a Continuous Improvement Specialist to join their team based out of Pekin, Illinois.
The Continuous Improvement Specialist plays a key role in optimizing production and operational processes. They identify improvement opportunities, implement innovative solutions, and ensure follow-up on actions to enhance efficiency, quality, and overall company performance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Process Analysis and Diagnosis
• Observe and analyze production and operational processes to identify inefficiencies.
• Collect and interpret data to pinpoint root causes of waste and non-value-added activities.
• Conduct field audits and GEMBA Walks to engage teams in continuous improvement.
2. Implementation of Improvement Actions
• Propose and lead continuous improvement initiatives (5S, Kaizen, Lean, Six Sigma, TPM).
• Develop and implement tools and methods to optimize performance.
• Ensure the integration of new solutions into daily operations.
3. Production Support and Problem-Solving
• Facilitate problem-solving sessions (A3, PDCA, 8D, Ishikawa, Pareto).
• Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to minimize downtime and losses.
• Monitor performance indicators (OEE, MTTR, MTBF, OTIF) and propose corrective actions.
4. Training and Team Support
• Educate and train operators and managers on continuous improvement principles.
• Assist teams in implementing best practices and work standards.
• Support employees through change management to ensure sustainable adoption of improvements.
5. Monitoring and Evaluating Results
• Measure the impact of improvement actions using key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Adjust strategies based on results and field feedback.
• Document and standardize best practices to ensure long-term improvements.
Required Qualifications:
• 3+ years of experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies.
• 3+ years of experience in operations or role that focused on process improvement
• 3+ years of experience collaborating and working with cross-functional teams.
• Adept in problem solving methodologies, with a thorough understanding of navigating complex problems
Preferred Qualifications:
• Certifications in Lean, Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt), and Project Management (PMP).
• 1+ years of experience facilitating and training groups of individuals
• 3+ years of project management experience.
Additional Details:
• This position is for the day shift
• This position is 100% onsite in Pekin, Illinois
Compensation range: $65,000-$85,000
The compensation range provided is a general guideline only. Pay will be determined based on the candidate's experience and expertise and is subject to vary.
