Maintenance Manager

Winpak Heat Seal is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead their Maintenance team based out of Pekin, Illinois.
In this key role, you'll be responsible for leading and managing a dedicated team of employees while overseeing all mechanical and electrical maintenance activities. You will play a crucial part in ensuring that plant operations run smoothly by coordinating contractor services and making sure maintenance procedures are executed to the highest standards. Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership and Continuous Improvement
· Guide the team in a continuous improvement process for maintenance activities to enhance the reliability of production and auxiliary equipment.
· Assess staffing requirements, participate in recruitment efforts, and identify training needs for both management and unionized staff.
· Develop and implement action plans to achieve management objectives, aiming for operational excellence on par with the most successful companies in the industry.
· Assist the department supervisor in overseeing employees across different shifts to ensure smooth operations.
Maintenance Programs and Equipment Reliability
· Implement and maintain effective preventive and predictive maintenance programs to ensure optimal equipment performance.
· Increase the utilization of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for better tracking and reporting.
· Collaborate with the Health & Safety (H&S) department to improve and keep the lockout/tagout program current and compliant.
· Oversee the work of subcontractors performing maintenance and repair tasks on company property to ensure quality and adherence to standards.
· Prepare and submit budgets, as well as capital project requests, for major repairs and new installations to support long-term maintenance goals
Inventory and Equipment Management
· Ensure an adequate inventory of replacement parts to minimize downtime and support efficient maintenance operations.
· Supervise the maintenance of equipment and tools in the mechanical workshop and provide training to employees for their proper use.
Maintenance Quality and Reporting
· Ensure all maintenance work is completed on time, within estimated costs, and meets quality standards.
· Create performance reports and track key maintenance performance indicators (KPIs) to assess and improve operations.
Required Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in mechanical, industrial, electrical engineering, or equivalent.
· 5+ years of experience leading maintenance reliability teams within a manufacturing environment
· 2+ years of experience with maintaining automated equipment
· 2+ years of experience leading capital projects
· Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
· Knowledge of general mechanical maintenance and specialized trades (machining, plumbing, welding, electricity, etc.)
· Capability to offer 24-hour support
Preferred Qualifications:
· Extensive knowledge of maintenance department operations within a results-oriented organization
· 3+ years of experience with quality systems and continuous improvement (Kaizen, SMED, 6S, ISO, etc.)
· 3+ years of experience using MS Office suite tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams)
Additional Details:
· This position is for the day shift, however, requires flexibility to provide 24/7 support
· This position is 100% onsite in Pekin, Illinois
Compensation range: $106,000 - $145,000
The compensation range provided is a general guideline only. Pay will be determined based on the candidate's experience and expertise and is subject to vary.
