Job Summary
The Manager of High Speed Internet (HSI) Investigations is responsible for conducting and managing a variety of investigations associated with criminal and or dishonest acts against Comcast. Investigations include addressing employee or non-employee criminal activity or internal misconduct including violations of Company policy. Plans and directs the investigative security function under leadership’s direction. Accountable for ensuring that the security programs and strategies of Comcast are effectively implemented and maintained. Manages a team of security professionals. Develops physical security recommendations to facilitate the protection of Company property/assets from loss and facilitates security awareness training to employees. This position is also responsible for developing investigative plans, gathering, and evaluating facts, conducting investigative interviews, drafting investigative reports, and providing high-level presentations to executives.This virtual position can be based in any state within the western half of the United States.
Job Description
Core Responsibilities
- Conducts and leads investigations relating to criminal or other acts which have or may have detrimental effect on the Company.
- Prepares and documents investigations for HR, Legal Counsel, or law enforcement agencies.
- Develops and maintains a professional working relationship with various law enforcement agencies; often acts as a primary point of contact with law enforcement in cases involving employees, business partners or customers.
- Conducts interviews/interrogations of suspects, witnesses, and victims.
- May work “undercover” as appropriate to perform controlled illegal equipment purchases.
- Ensures protection and security of Comcast employees and assets.
- Liaisons with various stakeholders such as fraud mitigation and cyber security teams to ensure smooth transition between issue identification and investigative steps.
- Utilizes investigative techniques to include, gathering raw data and evidence, applying conditions, performing analysis, rationalizing results, drawing conclusions, making recommendations, and preparing comprehensive and level-appropriate reports.
- Provides recommendations for policies, procedures, standards, training, and methods for identifying and protecting information, personnel, property, facilities, operations or material from unauthorized disclosure, misuse, theft, assault, vandalism and tampering, sabotage, or loss.
- Creates and maintains critical partnerships and relationships with different business units including but not limited to Cyber, Xfinity Mobile, Real Estate, Facilities, Finance, Government Affairs, Human Resources, Employee Engagement, Legal, Marketing, Public Relations, and Technical Operations.
- Ensures there is a reliable and sound tracking system for archiving data to be used in potential investigations as well as retrieval of data for security matters.
- Oversees investigation, surveillance, documentation, reporting and resolution steps.
- Consistent exercise of independent judgement and discretion in matters of significance.
- Provides testimony under oath in municipal, superior, and federal court as required.
- Daily supervision of Security Investigators ensuring goals and objectives are met and procedures adhered to, assists with prioritizing case load for effective and efficient case completion.
- Manages initiation of facility physical security assessments and based on results recommends corrective measures.
- Recruits, selects, and trains new Security Investigators.
- Ensures evidence is managed and secured properly per chain of evidence guidelines.
- Administers employee performance appraisals per Company guidelines.
- Operates, secures, and maintains Company issued equipment, including vehicle, photo/video equipment and other tools.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Experience with a major law enforcement, intelligence, public service, or private sector security organization.
Experience conducting multi-jurisdictional investigations in collaboration with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.
Knowledge of Federal, state, or local regulations relevant to the Company (i.e., PCI, CPNI, SOX, HIPAA, and data privacy).
Results-oriented with superior problem-solving skills and ability to effectively manage varied resources to complete a task / project.
Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills, including conflict resolution skills.
Exceptional written and oral communication and strong presentation skills.
Proactive risk management skills to identify, assess, and mitigate threats.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree preferred in an area of study relevant to this position (i.e., Security Management, Criminal Justice, Business, Compliance, Homeland Security, etc.)
Related Work Experience
Generally, requires four plus years related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Certification or accreditation from a risk or security management program such as: Certified Security Project Manager (CSPM), Associate Protection Professional (APP), Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP), Certified Fraud Investigator (CFI), or Professional Certified Investigator (PCI) is a plus.
Certification from an interviewing and interrogation program such as Wicklander-Zulawski & Associates, John E. Reid & Associates, or LSI Laboratory for Scientific Interrogation, Inc. (SCAN) is a plus.
Proficiency in telecom industry technical applications such as billing and engineering tools are a plus.
Technical understanding of cable plant and network operations as well as basic wireless networking systems and processes is a plus.
Working Conditions
Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s), and overtime, as necessary.
Travel locally and nationally approximately 10-15% of the time. At times with little advanced notice.
