Role Description
As a Machine Learning Research Intern, you’ll work closely with senior researchers and engineers to develop novel models or improve existing ML-backed products. Your work will contribute to shaping the future of content discovery and personalization at Comcast. You’ll gain hands-on experience with large-scale datasets and production-grade systems, while contributing to both experimental prototypes and live services.

Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Conduct research in machine learning, focusing on advance personalization, recommendation systems, and NLP.
- Design, prototype, and evaluate ML models that deliver personalized recommendations across devices and services.
- Work with large-scale datasets, train, optimize, and fine-tune models using methods like collaborative filtering, hybrid models, deep learning and generative AI.
- Collaborate with data engineers, product managers, researchers, and engineers to integrate models into production systems.
- Present findings to stakeholders and contribute to research publications or presentations.
Preferred Skills
- Publications in top-tier ML/NLP venues.
- Experience working with transformer models.
- Familiarity with cloud or big-data platforms (Databricks, or AWS).
- Graduate student in mathematics, statistics, physics, computer science, or another highly quantitative field degree with strong research background.
- Advanced training and strong research track record in statistics, machine learning, AI, or another highly quantitative field
- Hands on programming experience in scripting (e.g. Python)
- A background demonstrating strong problem-solving skills
- An ability to communicate advanced concepts in a concise and logical way
- Proficiency in creating and using algorithms to meticulously investigate and work through large data or error-checking problems
Minimum Qualifications and Eligibility Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a graduate program in a relevant field at a U.S.-based college or university, with a strong academic record.
- Rising second year Master’s or PhD student preferred (graduating Winter 2026–Spring 2028).
- Returning to degree-program (for at least a semester) after the completion of the summer internship (meaning, student must be returning to school for Fall 2026 semester before graduating)
- Available to work 40 hours per week over the course of the summer program starting June 1, 2026, through August 14, 2026
- Authorized to work in the United States with no current or future sponsorship needs
- Available to report in-person to the work location on the job posting (unless virtual offering)

Base Pay: $55.00Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Comcast provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work.
