\nJob Summary
This position is on the 5G Field Operations team responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting faults, restoring faults, break/fix of RAN, Transport, Edge & IP Networking systems within the area of responsibility. The candidate will also be responsible for supporting the Optimization team with the collection of radio performance data, troubleshooting and isolate external interference. The candidate will also support the Deployment team on new 5G radio/edge infrastructure projects, and the Transport team with the deployment and troubleshooting of any networking and 5G equipment (CDU, USM, UPF) that is physically located in the Region or Cities of responsibility. Finally, the candidate will perform, under the direction of the Commissioning and Integration (C&I) Manager all radio site shakedown tests which is the final step that brings a radio into commercial service.Job Description

Perform fault isolation and if necessary: break / fix tasks to restore 5G radio, transport, and edge devices back into service.

\nReview daily health checks for all 5G SA network elements and respond to faults as detected.

Support the Tier II Optimization team with the collection of drive test data who will then make parameter changes after post-processing. Once changes are made the FE will drive the route and collect data to verify the changes produced desired results.
\nInterface with Program Management and partners to ensure project completion on time and within budget.
\nCoordinate with the site and project management teams to ensure timely delivery of sites.
\nReport project status and performance data to program management.
\nProven ability to work in a matrix-managed organization with Program Management, RF and Transport Engineering, Site Development, and Legal to achieve deployment objectives.

Work with Tier II Operational teams and network design teams to implement solutions to reduce network-affecting incidents, improve the speed and accuracy of changes, reduce manual work, and enhance network tool visibility.

\nProvide initial operational engineering support to detect incidents, troubleshoot problems and implement resolutions with deployed 5G Core, RAN, Transport and other network systems deployed nationwide.

\nSupport Tier II with the development of troubleshooting playbooks for the 5G network including RAN, cell site fronthaul & backhaul, local aggregation hubs, distributed regional and national data centers for both user and control plane traffic, USM, and any other distributed edge or RAN infrastructure.
\nWork with Tier II Operational teams and network design teams to implement solutions to reduce network-affecting incidents, improve the speed and accuracy of changes, reduce manual work, and enhance network tool visibility.
\nDocument incidents in the Comcast ticketing systems and manage escalation processes within their region of responsibility.

Qualifications
8+ years’ experience in wireless RAN and network operations which includes troubleshooting faults & if necessary, Break/Fix of RAN, fronthaul, backhaul, EMS, transport, and edge network elements.

Proven skill in Configuring and Troubleshooting RAN and Transport Network Infrastructure, Server Hardware, and Operating Systems, and/or data center fabric solutions.
\nAble to comprehensively understand artifacts (Construction Drawings, CIQ, Network diagrams, call flow documents, Deployment Procedures, MOPs etc.) during construction, commissioning/integration and debugging/fault isolation.
\nExperience with the collection of drive test data to optimize a wireless network.
\nCandidate should have experience with wireless previous experience in areas as DevOps, RAN Engineering, Systems Engineering or Site Reliability Engineering.
\nHands-on experience managing network services for a large wireless network.

At least 5+ years' experience in switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access networks.
\nKnowledge of IP and Ethernet, performance optimization techniques and methods, and its applications to wireless networks
\nKnowledge or professional experience with any of the following: 5G features, large-scale system simulators, 5G associated Protocols, DPDK, NETCONF/YANG, FCAPS in 3GPP

\nResource will ensure that operational and maintenance safety concerns are addressed during site walks at each location.
\nEvaluate the deployability and constructability from an Operations perspective of each site. Can we maintain the site without excessive costs should be the primary perspective when evaluating deployability.
\nVerify the constructability of the site based on the RFDS and CIQ engineering documents.
\nEnsure once each site is constructed, maintenance can be performed without adverse impact to SLA’s and remain within site budgetary restrictions.
