JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARYResponsible for working with engineering teams throughout the department to craft and architect secure, efficient and impactful cloud solutions. Partner with teams across the company to innovate and deliver software-defined cloud services and platforms. Work with the most creative minds in the company as well as with vendors to architect a cloud offering that is scalable, reliable, easy to use, and driven in the marketplace. Acts in compliance with industry and Company technical requirements, standards, policies, and procedures. Provides technical leadership to junior Engineers and project teams. Decisions are far-reaching in terms of setting precedents for the business and technology.In the role of Principal SaaS Architect, you will be a meaningful contributor within Comcast Technology Solution’s exciting new cyber security business unit, which sells SaaS and subscription security solutions to the large enterprise and federal government. Working with the Senior Director of Software Engineering, your primary responsibility will be architecting DataBee, a new SaaS security, risk and compliance platform that was developed internally and used inside Comcast’s SOC, and is now being made available for use by the Fortune 500 CISO customer base. This role will be a part of a high pace, collaborative engineering environment to deliver value for DataBee customers. You will be influential in crafting a startup culture for the DataBee business unit, enabling and empowering your teammates to work in an agile fashion.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

• Facilitate in-depth architectural discussions and design exercises to build outstanding cloud solutions.
• Work with internal and external partners to gather requirements.
• Conduct surveys, brainstorming sessions and analysis to understand business need/fit.
• Design updated cloud plans in support of one or more business processes.
• Analyze different options to make a build vs. buy decision.
• Identify resource skill gaps.
• Promote the use of industry and Company technology standards.
• Mentor, review code and verify that design, coding and architectural guidelines are adhered to.
• Manage budgets.
• Build cloud governance policies and assist in accreditation of cloud solutions.
• Work with engineering groups to guide migration of workloads.
• Architect cloud resource usage quota assignments and chargeback mechanisms.
• Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
• Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as vital.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Additional Required Skills and Experience:

• Proven expertise with products processing scalable, big data ETL workloads.
• Proven expertise in crafting high performance, highly available and scalable micro service architecture.
• Demonstrated expertise architecting multi-tenant SaaS solutions on public clouds such as Azure, AWS and/or Google Cloud.
• Experience with AWS and Kubernetes. Preferred if experienced with Kubernetes-based architectures deployed to multiple cloud environments.
• Experience developing software for SaaS solutions.
• Experience working in Agile Scrum development environments.
• Expertise with GitHub and Jira or similar technologies.
• Experience with data lake providers such as Snowflake and Databricks.

National Pay Range: $118,835.60 USD-$278,520.93 USD

Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience.

Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Comcast provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a Commission under the terms of an applicable plan, while most non-sales positions are eligible for a Bonus.
