About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Software Engineer within the Enterprise Application & Cloud Transformation team.


In this role, you will:

  • Lead complex technology Cloud initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact.
  • Act as a key contributor in automating the provisioning of Cloud Infrastructure using Infrastructure as a Code.
  • Make decisions in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering and large-scale technology solutions. Design, Optimization and Documentation of the Engineering aspects of the Cloud platform.
  • Understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives.
  • Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions in Cloud for strategic business objectives and solving technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple parameters, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors.
  • Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals.
  • Build and Enable cloud infrastructure, automate the orchestration of the entire Azure/GCP Cloud Platforms for Wells Fargo Enterprise.
  • Working in a globally distributed team to provide innovative and robust Cloud centric solutions.
  • Closely working with Product Team and Vendors to develop and deploy Cloud services to meet customer expectations


Required Qualifications:

  • Overall 12+ years of experience, 3+ years working with GCP and a proven track record for the below mentioned skills.

  • Experience working in Agile environment and product backlog grooming against ongoing engineering work
  • Enterprise Change Management and change control, experience working within procedural and process driven environment
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tool Terraform and GitHub, understanding of concepts and familiarity working within modern IaC pipelines
  • Must have professional cloud certification on Azure/GCP.
  • Sound knowledge on the following areas with an expertise on one of them -
    • Ability to design, develop, and implement large scale/complex software applications using GCP data services
    • Should have hands on experience in using GCP service like ( Composer, Dataflow, BigQuery, CloudSQL, Pub/Sub,cloud Storage, KMS, Cloud DLP)
    • Strong Hands on experience in Python / Java programming with expertise in Airflow (Composer), Apache Beam SDK.
    • Hands on experience in SQL and RDBMS concepts.
    • Strong experience in Data Engineering (Streaming data processing using Pub/Sub, structured and unstructured data processing (avro, parquet, pdf, json etc file formats) )
    • Sound knowledge of DevOps and SDLC for data Engineering, CI/CD concepts, GitHub, branching strategies

  • Good to have knowledge of Cloud Data Security
  • Should be a quick learner and team player
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to articulate technical solutions to both technical and business audiences
  • Ability to deliver & engage with partners effectively in a multi-cultural environment by demonstrating co-ownership & accountability in a matrix structure.
  • Delivery focus and willingness to work in a fast-paced, enterprise environment.
