Job SummaryThe Day Porter is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and professional environment throughout the day while providing excellent customer service. This is a highly visible, customer-facing role that requires regular interaction with visitors, clients, and staff to ensure all areas remain clean, stocked, and welcoming.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness of high-traffic areas such as lobbies, hallways, entrances, elevators, and common spaces
- Clean and restock restrooms throughout the day
- Respond quickly to spills, trash overflow, and other immediate cleaning needs
- Monitor facility conditions and report safety hazards or maintenance issues
- Empty trash and recycling receptacles and replace liners as needed
- Replenish supplies including paper products, soap, and sanitizer
- Assist with light cleaning tasks such as wiping surfaces, spot cleaning glass, and dusting
- Provide courteous assistance to customers, including directions or basic information when needed
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
Qualifications
- Previous cleaning or janitorial experience preferred, but not required
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional appearance and customer-focused attitude
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift (typically up to 25–40 lbs) for extended periods
- Reliable, punctual, and able to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
Work Environment
- Active, on-your-feet role in a public-facing setting
- May involve exposure to cleaning chemicals and varying noise levels
- Schedule may include weekdays, weekends, or holidays depending on facility needs
Job requirements:
Skills and Abilities
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must have reliable transportation
- Ability to work with little supervision
- Ability to work in occupied areas like patient rooms and nurse stations
- Strong detail orientation
- Customer-oriented and friendly
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED
Physical Requirements
- Stand and walk for long periods of time
- Frequent bending and twisting
- Able to lift, push & pull 50lbs
- Able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Full Time 1st Shift
- Monday - Friday
- 7AM - 3PM
- 18/HR
