Vonachen Group is looking to hire a Maintenance Supervisor in Peoria, IL

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and performing maintenance and groundskeeping duties to ensure the property remains clean, safe, and well-maintained. This role combines hands-on work with leadership responsibilities, including supervising a maintenance crew, coordinating daily tasks, and ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate has experience with power tools, landscaping equipment, and snow removal, and possesses strong communication and leadership skills.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise daily work assignments for the maintenance crew.
  • Provide direction, training, and support to team members to ensure high-quality performance.
  • Monitor work progress and conduct inspections to ensure completion and adherence to company standards.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, customers, and company leadership to coordinate maintenance needs.
  • Perform and oversee routine groundskeeping tasks, including mowing, trimming, landscaping, and seasonal care.
  • Operate and maintain lawn care and snow removal equipment, ensuring proper use and functionality.
  • Complete minor building repairs, general upkeep, and ensure that outdoor areas are clean and hazard-free.
  • Support safety initiatives by ensuring the work environment is compliant with company and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain and track inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment.
  • Request supplies and repairs as needed to support uninterrupted maintenance operations.

Job Requirements:

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
  • Proficient in the use and maintenance of power tools, lawn care, and snow removal equipment.
  • Knowledge of general facility maintenance and landscaping best practices.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and safety.
  • Able to work independently while managing team responsibilities.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Valid Drivers License and able to pass MVR
  • 2+ years of experience in maintenance or groundskeeping required
  • 1+ year of supervisory or team lead experience strongly preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years or older with reliable transportation
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs for extended periods
  • Able to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, or weekends as needed
