The University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria seeks a talented Rheumatologist with a passion for education and scholarship to join the faculty to provide patient care and clinical instruction.
Position Summary
This position will perform patient care services to include history-physical examinations and reports, clinic visit notes and evaluations, and similar services that are customarily performed in a rheumatology clinic. Participate in undergraduate, graduate and continuing education programs of the Department of Medicine.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Serve as rheumatology attending physician in a well-established outpatient clinic.
- Perform or supervise the performance of patient care services to include history-physical examinations and reports, clinic visit notes and evaluations, and similar services that are customarily performed in a rheumatology clinic
- Participate in undergraduate, graduate and continuing education programs of the Department
- Collaborate with other attending physicians and consultants
- Participate in university and/or hospital committees
- Perform duties in a manner that complies with all applicable standards, rules, policies, and regulations of the hospital,
- University of Illinois, Joint Commission, and applicable local, state, and federal regulations
- Mentor resident physicians and medical students
- Provide at least one Grand Rounds lecture yearly
- Provide lectures to residents, third and fourth year medical students
- Opportunity to participate in curriculum development with both residency program and/ or medical student curriculum
- Opportunities to perform research and scholarly work are available to the incumbent
- Opportunities to collaborate with resident physicians and medical students on research projects are available to the incumbent.
- Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must possess MD or DO or equivalent degree.
- Must be Rheumatology Fellowship trained.
- Must be board certified or board eligible in Rheumatology.
- Must be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois.
- Must be eligible for medical staff appointment at university-affiliated hospital.

The budgeted salary range for the position is $310,000 to $330,000 per year.
Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity.
