Job Description

The Trailer Technician is responsible for repairs of all types on a variety of trailers, except for repairs to the reefer unit. Work performed may include replacing panels, body repair, frame or suspension repair, as well as liftgates. WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Review each repair order (RO) to understand the repairs needed prior to beginning work.
  • Consistently produce high-quality repairs in accordance with the repair order, OEM policies, or documentation provided for a positive customer experience.
  • Ability to properly use specialized tools and equipment in a safe manner.
  • Perform all aspects of trailer repair (excluding reefer units).
  • Identify parts necessary for repair completion and work in conjunction with Parts department to reduce downtime.
  • Move trailers in/out of shop and perform road tests as required.
  • Ensure company and OEM policies and processes are followed, including thorough documentation.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace according to company and Elite Support guidelines.

Qualifications

What We're Looking For:

  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check, physical, and drug screen.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver's License with ability to meet insurance requirements is required
  • Class B or Class A CDL with air brake endorsement is highly preferred
  • 1-3 years within a shop environment; heavy-duty repair experience is highly preferred
  • Demonstrated welding and fabricating experience
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Proven technical skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions
  • Ability to understand and comply with company, industry, and OSHA guidelines and policies
  • Ability to lift 110 lbs. unassisted
