The Benefits Associate as part of the Wellbeing & Rewards Center of Expertise, must possess a broad knowledge of key retirement benefit principles and procedures in order to execute on key initiatives and support the Benefits COE with strategy, design and benefits management for programs in the US and Canada. The Benefits Associate supports the Benefits COE with executing retirement program changes, managing vendor relationships, executing the retirement benefits and compliance calendar. The Benefits Associate also specializes in delivering concierge experience to key stakeholders.

Essential Duties:

  • Supports the Benefits COE with retirement benefits vendor accountability, review and outcomes analysis.
  • Supports the Benefits Manager by executing on retirement benefits strategy
  • In collaboration with the Benefits Manager, third party consultants and counsel, develops and maintains an annual retirement plan compliance calendar. Including the completion of annual 5500 filings and non-discrimination testing
  • In coordination with Talent Operations Benefits Administration Team, the Benefits Associate handles escalated and complex issues and works with third party vendors to resolve the issue and provides follow up direction and education to the Talent Operations Benefits Team.
  • In coordination with the Retirement Plan Committee and third-party vendors, the Benefits Associate supports the Benefits COE with the management and design of the 401(k), profit sharing and cash balance and other retirement plans.
  • The Benefits Associate supports the Benefits COE with the management and design of the RRSP plan for RSM Canada.
  • Develops subject matter expertise in the area of retirement benefits
  • Additionally, the Benefit Associate coordinates the annual audit of the various retirement plans with the external auditor.
  • The Benefits Associate supports the Benefits Manager with the diligence and planning process related to the benefits impact of an acquisition.
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree
  • GBA/CEBS certification
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant benefit experience
  • Minimum of 3 years working in a collaborative environment
  • Working knowledge and understanding of ERISA, retirement plan rules and regulations applicable legislation (CARES Act, Secure 2.0)
  • Ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy during the process of educating, mentoring and coaching staff and business partners
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and quality

  • Ability to work well under pressure; meet established targets and goals in a high volume, fast-paced and rapidly changing work environment
  • Ability to work independently, effectively prioritize work and consistently meet daily, weekly and monthly deadlines
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time

Compensation Range: $64,200 - $106,700

Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
