The Consulting Marketing Director is responsible for developing and implementing strategic marketing plans for RSM’s Consulting Services Line-of-business. As a strategic advisor and leader you will lead a team of marketing professionals for assigned products and services with responsibility for overseeing market definition, messaging and positioning, planning, strategy, brand management, and marketing/sales integration. Key qualifications include strategic thinking, experience in building and delivering on, growth strategies, and strong team management skills. Is a member of the Consulting Marketing Leadership team and respective service line leadership teams

Essential Duties:

  • Understand the business strategy and growth objectives of RSM’s Consulting Services business and inform demand generation strategies.
  • Guide teams in the development of marketing strategies that support business growth and align to key market opportunities as defined by the business strategy.
  • Seen as a strategic advisor and leader across all Industries/Service Lines that they cover.
  • Sets clear expectations related to the level of marketing enablement that will be provided to the business and their practices.
  • Coaches and champions team.
  • Operates through delegation.
  • Works with leadership on succession and growth plans for the team.
  • Ensures a fair and balanced workload across the team.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s in Marketing or related business discipline (advertising, marketing, communications, finance) with proven experience
  • Degree in Business or an equivalent degree (preferred)

TECHNICAL/SOFT SKILLS:

  • Deep understanding of various competencies related to the marketing of consulting services.
  • Understanding of the needs of key audiences/ personas, beyond the CEO and CFO, that buy and influence buying decisions for consulting services
  • Understanding of key industries that are core target markets of the firm.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 10 years marketing experience (in a large professional services or similar organization) with proven abilities to collect, synthesize and manage market/client data, and develop and implement direct marketing, advertising, PR, social media, branding and demand generation initiatives. (required)
  • Experience working in a matrixed organization (preferred)
  • Minimum of 5 years managing others in a highly dynamic environment (preferred)

  • Must exhibit an exceptional client service attitude, possess outstanding people skills and take a proactive approach in working with employees
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to motivate, and deliver tough prescriptive messages
  • Demonstrated skills in diagnostics, analytics, coordination, collaboration and planning
  • Takes appropriate risks and ownership of results
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects/assignments simultaneously
  • Seeks ongoing improvement by systematically performing gap analyses, and factoring learning into counter-measures for all areas of responsibility

Compensation Range: $154,000 - $273,400

Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
