The National Assurance LOB Marketing Manager is a member of our broader Communications, Marketing and Growth (CMG) team. Driven by a strong understanding of RSM’s business, industry and LOB growth objectives, the Assurance marketing manager co-develops the go-to market strategy for assurance throughout the US and Canada, in alignment with the assurance growth priorities, and serves as an advisor to bring fresh, innovative ideas to expand the business.
The marketer collaborates with assurance leaders to understand business strategies, provide new ideas that align with strategies, launch new offerings, and proactively advise and provide insight to the team on all marketing related topics.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
The marketer develops and implements the marketing strategy and plan through hyper collaboration and co-development with CMG colleagues across the lines of business, industry and centers of excellence (COE) to position the solutions through middle market issues and reflective of client needs and thought leadership of their teams.
- Ensure plan is fully aligned with the LOB marketing strategy and is in alignment with and leverages firm wide thought leadership and CMG strategies.
- Collaborates with thought leadership team to develop content marketing plan in support of strategy—includes all types of content (video, webcast, articles, ebooks)
- Leads process to develop foundational marketing support assets i.e. proposals, qualifications presentations, website, and other sales enablement materials.
- Partners with digital marketing and audience acceleration team to co-develop digital marketing strategies for assurance; measures and understands results and adapts programs to increase effectiveness; ensures understanding of digital marketing metrics and analytics to achieve and continuously improve performance; focused on improving personal digital marketing and analytics literacy.
- Packages programs for local office use that enable location and industry market development leaders to deliver targeted programming that drives growth and enables opportunities to develop relationships.
- Establishes performance goals and objectives for marketing plans and leverages data analytics to measure performance, communicate results and continually improve performance. Understands and leverages data across CRM, web, and other platforms to measure and improve performance.
- Develops programs that nurture and develop prospective clients with emphasis on tiered targets
- Collaborates with sales on program development to increase program effectiveness and drive growth including transition of leads to the demand generation and sales team
Develops and delivers marketing projects that span services and offerings, including issues-based campaigns. Executes strategy, plan and delivery, and measure results against performance goals. Communicates impact and plan for continuous improvement.
- Ensures emerging and high profile and regulatory changes are identified, understood and programs aligned with these topics are developed and implemented (i.e. SEC sustainability reporting, Lease Accounting, etc.). Collaborate with industry marketing as appropriate.
- Drives relationship management and optimization with key associations and strategic vendors including ownership of national sponsorships where relevant.
- Understands industry strategies and how they intersect with assurance; participate in national industry marketing meetings to foster collaboration.
- Is a strategic advisor to the assurance stakeholders and participates in related national leadership team meetings.
- Collaborates with industry and LOB marketers to identify areas for joint marketing opportunities through programs or audience reach.
Other:
- Contributes to the development of the assurance marketing plan and budget annually. Ensures that budget is aligned with business priorities and proactively manages/monitors effective use of budget. Provides quarterly and “as needed” updates to CMG leader and business stakeholders.
- Manages flow of content from the business (beyond what is planned in the content plan); collaboration with National Professional Standards Group as necessary.
- Establishes and evolves competency in digital marketing, leveraging expertise of COE, as well as learning and development plans.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree
TECHNICAL/SOFT SKILLS
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Microsoft Word, Excel PowerPoint
- Excellent project management, critical thinking, and organizational skills
- Proficiency in digital and content marketing campaign design and buyer journeys; understanding of digital marketing ecosystem
- Competency in marketing data analytics
EXPERIENCE
- 5-7 years of leading marketing/growth experience in B2B environment
- Professional services or financial services preferred
- Proven success managing marketing and relationship development programs
- Ability to learn new subject areas quickly
