Position Purpose
Under occasional supervision, the Digital Automation Specialist supports the company’s Innovation Management Department’s efforts to effectively support process improvement across the organization.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain automated workflows.
Digitize and enhance customer-facing processes, focusing on data collection, e-forms, and digital journeys.
Develop custom databases and internal applications for data tracking and collaboration.
Develop dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs), workflow efficiency, user engagement and actionable insights.
Ensure automation systems remain up to date, secure, and compliant with internal policies; troubleshoot as necessary.
Act as the Process Improvement point of contact within Innovation Management for Digital Solution inquiries from internal stakeholders and support users in adopting workflows.
Support the documentation of current-state processes and proposed improvements, including the development of business cases, cost-benefit analyses, return on investment and risk assessments.
Collaborates with internal stakeholders across Underwriting, Risk Services, Operational Support and IT to define project scope, test and pilot digital solutions, identify process constraints, ensure best practices with respect to software development life cycle, and drive process improvement and automation initiatives.
Proactively participate in broader Innovation Management & Policy Development departmental initiatives as needed.
Education & Experience
Typically requires an associate’s degree in business administration or a related field
1+ years of related experience

Knowledge, Skills, & Competencies
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in various digital tools including but not limited to, Microsoft specific tools such as Power Automate (Flow creation, conditional logic, connectors), Power BI (DAX, Power Query, data visualization), Microsoft Lists (custom views, integration with Teams and Power Automate), various other visual collaboration and process documentation tools, and EasySend (digital form/journey builders).
Ability to implement alternative digital strategies in response to evolving opportunities.
Compensation Overview
The base salary range for the position is listed below. Please note that the base salary is only one component of our robust total rewards package at RLI. The salary offered will take into account a number of factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications/credentials, talent availability & specialization, as well as business needs. The below range may be modified in the future.
Base Pay Range
$48,244.00 - $67,662.00Total Rewards
