Position Purpose
Under moderate supervision, bill and collect deductibles from our insureds. Provide backup documentation to parties involved to clarify billed deductible amounts. Communicate past due deductibles with the insured and management. Maintain high collection rates and work with collection agencies to recover the billed deductible amounts. Make collection calls when needed. Secondarily, process any social media investigation when requested.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Generate and distribute claim deductible invoices to facilitate timely payments.
Manage insured accounts, including collecting payments and establishing payment plans for delinquent balances.
Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all billing and payment activities, including reconciling accounts receivable.
Input recovery payments into the claim system.
Pursue collection efforts on outstanding deductible billings to ensure prompt reimbursement.
Serve as a point of contact for billing inquiries from examiners and insureds.
Maintain documentation for all billed and collected amounts.
Prepare various reports and contribute to special projects as assigned.
Perform other related duties as needed.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Insurance, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in billing, collections, or claims administration.
Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Knowledge, Skills, & Competencies
Strong attention to detail with effective planning, organizational, and time management abilities.
Capable of managing diverse tasks simultaneously while maintaining quality during periodic interruptions.
Discretion and professionalism when handling confidential or sensitive information.
Self-motivated and able to work independently on routine tasks, while knowing when to seek supervisory support.
Team-oriented with a proactive attitude toward taking on new or additional responsibilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with solid grammar and vocabulary.
Effective telephone etiquette and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite—particularly Excel and Word—with the ability to create and modify spreadsheets to support operational needs.
Compensation Overview
The base salary range for the position is listed below. Please note that the base salary is only one component of our robust total rewards package at RLI. The salary offered will take into account a number of factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications/credentials, talent availability & specialization, as well as business needs. The below range may be modified in the future.
