Precision Planting is seeking a highly motivated individual to provide engineering expertise in design, implementation, and deployment of on-farm planting and harvesting equipment for advanced precision agriculture applications.
Your Impact
- You will be the owner for the design, testing, and productionizing of your products.
- You will develop, tune, and test control algorithms
- You will validate proof of concept software on research equipment operating in the field
- You will gain understanding of vehicle CAN use as inputs for control software
- You will use cutting-edge engineering design, modeling, and rapid prototyping tools to assist in research and invention of new product designs.
Your Experience and qualifications
- Qualifications: Bachelor's or master's degree (or equivalent) in engineering or a related field. High attention to detail, humility to accept better solutions, and eagerness about the future of agriculture, willingness to challenge conventional thinking for better outcomes.
- Innovation & Impact: Collaborate with our in-house attorney to draft patent applications for your inventions, see your ideas come to life in real-world farming applications & U.S. travel expected (5–10%).
- Design & Technical Skills: Solid modeling of mechanical parts using Creo or similar tools, Create detailed part prints for prototype and production parts.
- Programming & Simulation Knowledge: Familiarity with programming languages: C, C++, Python.
- Experience with graphical programming environments like Simulink.
- Hands-on experience with 3D printing, machining, fabrication, instrumentation, and data analysis.
- Demonstrate exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a high degree of mechanical aptitude.
