As a Security Specialist within PNC's Security Platforms organization, you may be based in a remote location. This is a remote position. Work may be performed from a quiet, confidential space in a home location, approved by PNC. This position may not be available in all geographic locations.As a Security Specialist, you will be part of PNC’s Global Security Fusion Center (GSFC). In this role, you will serve as the GFSC’s subject matter expert on AWS security technologies and services by working closely with IT and Security teams to facilitate designing and building of AWS infrastructure and services to support the GSFC’s needs. You will be responsible for designing, building, and operationalizing AWS security specific services, such as AWS GuardDuty, AWS Inspector, AWS CloudWatch, AWS CloudTrail, AWS Detective, and Amazon Security Lake.
Additional Job Responsibilities:
· Design, configure, maintain, deploy, and implement third party and cloud-native tooling to meet defined business requirements (i.e., integrating other on-premise/cloud hosted SIEMs with AWS services)
· Integrate AWS cloud native security services with other on-premise and/or cloud hosted security platforms
· Continuously improve security services, process and procedures, and coordination between cross-function teams utilizing automation where possible
· Work closely with IT engineering teams to review service designs and provide security recommendations to address potential threats for solutions hosted/built within AWS
· Provide overall engineering and administration support of AWS security services, including SIEM integration and security orchestration and automation points
· Recognize and onboard new data sources into approved SIEM(s), analyzing the data for anomalies and trends, and building dashboards highlighting the key trends of the data
· Correlate event data within AWS security services and other non-AWS security services to ensure events and/or data ingestion into other SIEMs
· Provide proactive feedback to management concerning potential problems and recommendations for improvement
· Partner and coordinate across the Security Operations team to respond to cybersecurity incidents
· Define procedures to validate the effectiveness of the design, deployment, and management of security controls that aim to maintain and enhance the firm’s security posture.
Due to the nature of this position, we are seeking candidates who have proficient engineering and administration, hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services cloud computing suite, including AWS GuardDuty, AWS Inspector, AWS CloudWatch, AWS CloudTrail, AWS Detective, Amazon Security Lake. Ideal candidates would also have previous security operations and/or security engineering experience with using and/or building security event and information management systems (SEIMs), favoring those with Splunk Core and Splunk Enterprise Security experience. Additionally, preferred candidates will possess excellent technical knowledge of IT Infrastructure, including switches, routers, server operating systems and hardware, and security applications, as well as be proficient in major scripting languages (i.e., Python, or PowerShell).

Job Description
- Provides technical evaluation and analysis in a specific Security area. Supports activities, process, and tools needed to improve overall security posture of the organization. Primary responsibilities do not include Architect or Engineering responsibilities.
- Applies security concepts, reviews information, executes defined tasks, analyzes requirements, reviews logs, and creates documentation. Performs investigation and data loss prevention, data manipulation, and coordination of activities. Performs actions to address or mitigate risks and vulnerabilities. Reviews and defines controls.
- Advises on more complex security procedures and products for clients, security administrators and network operations. Participates in enforcement of control security risks and threats; potential of one more controls subject to manager discretion. Shares knowledge with staff.
- Conducts security assessments and other information security routines consistently. Investigates and recommends corrective actions for data security related to established guidelines.
- Develops policies and procedures to standardize security functions and eliminate potential vulnerabilities and threats. Oversees that business needs are being met during development.
