As an Operations Production Support Specialist in Employee Benefit Distributions you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA. Valued opinions, supported by collaborative teams, impact the success of AMG Ops. This position is on the Audit and Control Team within EB Distributions. Operations Production Support Specialist is responsible for reconciling and remitting tax payments to federal and state tax authorities, balancing transactions and withholding from pension and lump sum payments to ensure our tax filings are accurate, balancing the annual production of 1099R and 1042S tax forms before they are sent to participants, coordinating the annual W8 Solicitation, distributing annual withholding election notices, testing the periodic tax updates and other enhancements to our application, ensuring we have appropriate procedures aligned with our controls and that our controls are appropriate, working with internal and external auditors and researching complex problems.
In addition, Operations Production Support Specialist will be involved with the other functions performed on this team which include uncashed check monitoring, escheatment, returned mail, recommending enhancements to the applications that our system interfaces with, new account conversions, projects and others as needed. This position will interact regularly with Corporate Tax, Technology, Institutional Line of Business and third-party vendors.
The ideal candidate will have experience in accounting, payroll and/or tax specific to the functions as outlined. Employee benefit, pension, 401(k), and/or trust experience is desired but not required. They should have a high attention to detail along with critical thinking skills, complex problem-solving skills, ability to continually multi-task and re-prioritize, effective communications skills and be comfortable interacting with individuals across many departments, internally and externally, and hierarchies. Prior accounting, payroll, tax or related experience is critical.PNC will not provide sponsorship for employment visas or participate in STEM OPT for this position.
Job Description
- Leads a critical operational support service, process, capability or initiative within an operational unit and ensures performance and/or risk indicators are met.
- Establishes and monitors process performance measurements and business impact. Gathers and communicates performance statistics and reports to internal stakeholders and senior management.
- Promotes and monitors the production workflow and assists team members with escalated process issues. Independently identifies and resolves exceptions and serves as a point of escalation.
- Monitors effectiveness and efficiency of production and/or process. Determines and/or drives change and improvement efforts in production and/or processes.
- Ensures the business adheres to policies, procedures and regulatory standards. Independently resolves compliance issues and drives risk mitigation activities.
