Description
Duties: Under the supervision of the RiverPlex General Manager, the Member Services Coordinator will be responsible for:
- Overseeing front desk operations to ensure efficient service and adherence to safety protocols.
- Recruiting, training, scheduling, and evaluating part-time front desk and sales staff.
- Supervising and coordinating the part-time manager on duty team, including scheduling, training, and operational procedures to ensure consistent facility coverage during evenings and weekends.
- Supporting membership sales efforts by working with General Manager to implement sales strategies, monitor team performance, and coach staff to achieve membership goals.
- Coordinating representation at wellness fairs, outreach events, and community programs to promote services and build community relationships.
- Serving as the primary liaison between members and facility staff to ensure a consistent, high-quality experience.
- Promoting and selling memberships, personal training packages, and related services.
- Conducting facility tours and follow up with prospective members.
- Assisting with planning and executing sales campaigns, promotions, and community outreach.
- Monitoring and responding to customer feedback and suggestions to improve service and satisfaction.
- Managing member communications including email, texting systems, comment responses, and support for social media platforms.
- Maintaining accurate records of memberships, leads, and interactions using membership software.
- Generating reports on sales, member engagement, and staffing as needed.
- Staying current on facility offerings, pricing, and member policies.
- Following and enforcing all safety procedures relevant to facility operations.
- Performing all other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions: This role requires occasional physical exertion, including lifting up to 25 lbs. Prolonged walking, standing, bending, and stooping may be required. Work involves typical risks associated with fitness centers, aquatic facilities, and event spaces, and requires adherence to safety precautions. Work is primarily performed indoors in a well-lit, climate-controlled environment.
Qualifications
Education: A bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Hospitality, or a related field is preferred. Extensive experience in a similar position with comparable duties and responsibilities may be substituted for all or part of the educational requirement.
Experience: One to two years of experience in member services, recreation management, fitness, or a related field. Supervisory experience, including staff scheduling, training, and performance evaluation, is highly preferred.
Knowledge and Ability:
- Strong customer service background with the ability to represent the Peoria Park District and OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in a professional and positive manner.
- Ability to be professional, respectful, accountable, and innovative; follow safety procedures; and promote equity with both internal and external customers.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to train, supervise, and motivate a diverse part-time staff.
- Comfortable using computer systems for memberships, scheduling, reporting, and communication.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Flexible schedule with availability for occasional evenings and weekends.
- Requires a valid Illinois State Driver’s License.
