Description
Duties: Under the supervision of the Operations Support Specialist the Billing & Customer Service Assistant is responsible for the following:
- Maintain complete up-to-date filing cabinets and photocopying.
- Follow the many procedures properly for scholarship awards.
- Speak with members in person or over the phone who are behind in payment and resolve the issues.
- Audit contracts for accuracy.
- Count and prepare daily reports.
- Establish and maintain supplies in the supply cabinet.
- Will be required to be trained in Daxko and RecTrac.
- When answering phone calls, accurate information should be provided.
- Will be required to perform secretarial functions independently and be able to use time wisely without the presence of the Operations Support Specialist.
- Follow all safety procedures that pertain to the duties performed. Support all aspects of the Park District’s safety program.
- Perform other duties assigned.
Essential Functions: The work requires some physical exertion in handling supplies and materials relevant to programming. Prolonged standing, bending and stooping. Ability to understand and complete paperwork and record keeping in order to complete duties. Ability to operate computer, copy machine, scanner, etc. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
Qualifications
Education: A minimum of two years of high school.
Experience: Previous office work strongly preferred.
Knowledge and Ability:
- Efficient filing skills, photocopying, telephone skills, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
- Proficient in basic PC operations.
- Ability to accurately pace yourself to complete all of your work.
- Requires a valid Illinois State Driver’s License, insurance, and reliable transportation.
- Ability to demonstrate the Peoria Park District values and standards of excellence of our facilities and programs, fostering public respect and trust.
- Aptitude for on-the-job training and ability to follow both written and oral instructions.
- Ability to work harmoniously with the public and fellow employees in an enthusiastic and cooperative manner.

- Ability to develop a broad-based knowledge of the community in order to further Park District objectives.
