Duties: Under the supervision of the Information Security Supervisor, the Information Technology Intern is responsible for the following:

• Participate in structured cabling maintenance.
• Participate in endpoint deployments.
• Participate in maintaining documentation.
• Participate in compliance testing and remediation.
• Participate in network analysis and securing networks.
• Participate in system auditing and testing.
• Follow all safety procedures that pertain to the duties performed; support all aspects of the District’s safety program.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Duration: 4 Months at 20 hours/week

Essential Functions:

• Sitting, walking, crawling, handling, and fingering frequently.
• Balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and feeling occasionally.
• Moderate lifting (up to 50 pounds) occasionally.

Experience: Previous experience with information technology is preferred.

Knowledge and Ability:

• Knowledge of computers including Microsoft Office Suite and the Windows operating system.
• Familiarity with or willingness to learn the Linux and MacOS operating systems; security testing tools, methodologies, and documentation.
• Ability to work independently and maintain a flexible schedule.
• An interest in computer and network security.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to be professional, respectful, accountable, innovative, safe, and equitable to both internal and external customers.
