Description
Duties: Under direct supervision of the Camp Wokanda Manager, the Camp Host is responsible for the following:
- Guest Services & Reservations:
- Handle guest inquiries and make reservations for cabins, tent sites, and event spaces.
- Book weddings and give detailed tours to potential wedding clients.
- Assist guests with check-in/check-out procedures and provide information about camp amenities and activities.
- Contact guests regarding payments, contracts, and insurance requirements.
- Event Assistance:
- Assist with organizing and running camp events, ensuring they are well-coordinated and enjoyable for participants.
- Work closely with wedding parties, event organizers, and other clients to ensure that all needs are met.
- Facility Preparation & Cleaning:
- Prepare cabins, event spaces, and communal areas for incoming guests, ensuring all areas are clean, stocked, and ready for use.
- Perform regular cleaning of cabins, event spaces, restrooms, and common areas to maintain a high standard of cleanliness.
- Set up and tear down event spaces based on client needs.
- Property Maintenance & Organization:
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the office and storage areas, keeping them efficient and welcoming.
- Assist with light maintenance tasks and communicate any larger repair needs to the appropriate staff.
- Tours & Hospitality:
- Provide tours of the campgrounds to prospective guests and event planners, highlighting the unique features of Camp Wokanda.
- Ensure that all guests have a positive and welcoming experience throughout their stay.
- Administrative Duties:
- Maintain accurate records of reservations, payments, contracts, and guest feedback.
- Follow up with clients regarding insurance and contractual obligations.
- Follow all safety procedures that pertain to the duties performed; support all aspects of the Park District's safety program.
- Perform additional tasks and duties as needed to support camp operations and guest services.
Essential Functions:
- This position requires physical activity, including cleaning, setting up, and moving equipment.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, including assisting with firewood delivery and potentially splitting wood.
Qualifications
Experience: Experience in cleaning and facility maintenance is preferred.
Knowledge and Abilities:
- Excellent customer service skills with a passion for hospitality.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Friendly and outgoing personality with the ability to engage with guests of all ages.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of basic office software and reservation systems is a plus.
- Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
- Ability to be professional, respectful, accountable, innovative, to follow safety procedures, and be equitable to both internal and external customers.
