Duties: Under the supervision of the Out of School Programs and Camp Manager, the Camp Program Intern is responsible for the following:

• Assisting in the preparation of summer camp programming for all Peoria Park Summer Day Camps.
• Researching and creating a digital resource folder of activities, games, and crafts set to specific weekly themes.
• Assisting in researching field trips and guest speaker opportunities and scheduling them.
• Following all Peoria Park District rules, policies, and procedures.
• As part of the internship program, all interns will assist in several Peoria Park District signature events, as assigned.
• All interns will participate in professional development sessions and team-building activities as assigned.
• Following all safety procedures that pertain to the duties performed and supporting all aspects of the Peoria Park District’s safety program.
• Performing all other duties as assigned.
• This is a grant-funded position available to both high school-aged individuals up to 15 hours per week and undergraduate-aged individuals up to 20 hours per week.

Essential Functions: Standing, bending and stooping. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds is required on a periodic basis. The programmed activities involve everyday risk, which require normal safety precautions typical of the recreation industry.

Education: Current High School or College Undergrad student status. Must be at least 16 years old.

Experience: Previous experience with summer camp programming highly preferred.
