Description
Duties: Under the supervision of the Manager of Athletic & Recreation Services, the Tennis Instructor is responsible for the following:
- Understand, interpret and maintain the Peoria Park District and Athletic Department’s standards and policies.
- Responsible for teaching and instructing tennis lessons to children and adults.
- Inventory equipment and make sure the environment is clean and safe for the participants.
- Follow all safety procedures that pertain to the duties performed; support all aspects of the Park District's safety program.
- Perform all other duties as required.
Essential Functions: Must be able to be on your feet for multiple consecutive hours, run, jump, and lift up to 45 pounds.
Qualifications
Experience: Individuals must be 15 years or older with preference given to an individual with training and tennis-playing experience.
Certification: CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
Knowledge and Ability:
- Desire and ability to work with children.
- Possess the ability to lead others in group and individual activities, demonstrating necessary steps and skills.
- The position requires effective communication with staff and program participants as well as the ability to respond effectively and quickly in varying situations.
- Ability to be professional, respectful, accountable, innovative, to follow safety procedures, and be equitable to both internal and external customers.
