Description

DUTIES: Under the supervision of the Maintenance and Repair Foreman, the Maintenance & Repair/Plumber Crew Leader is responsible for:

  • In the absence of the Foreman, the Plumber Crew Leader is to be in charge of planning work and supervising workmen assigned.
  • Maintaining and repairing facilities which require plumbing, electrical, or other specialties as directed.
  • Performing the repair and installation of plumbing, electrical equipment, building foundations and other construction.
  • Preparing estimates of material and labor costs as directed.
  • Supervising and performing the repair and installation of plumbing systems, equipment, and fixtures.
  • Keeping accurate records of all labor and materials costs of work performed.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness and safety of work area and assigned vehicle.
  • Requisitioning supplies and equipment as required.
  • Following all safety procedures that pertain to the duties performed. Supporting all aspects of the Park District's safety program.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education - High school diploma required.

Experience - Two years experience in construction or maintenance repair work. Work experience with plumbing, irrigation and electrical systems required.

Knowledge and Ability -

  • Basic knowledge of maintenance repairs.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Aptitude for on-the-job training.
  • Ability to work effectively with Park District personnel.
  • Must maintain a valid Illinois state Driver's License.
  • Must maintain a valid Illinois Department of Health State Plumbing License.
  • Ability to be professional, respectful, accountable, innovative, to follow safety procedures, and be equitable to both internal and external customers.
