Job Description Summary

To assist the County Clerk in effectively serving the public by maintaining accurate records, issuing various licenses, redeeming delinquent taxes, certifying vital records, and recording documents. Incumbent must be able to perform all of the following duties with little or no supervision. Associate Degree or high school diploma/equivalent with two years of office experience. Two years of customer service experience required. Must have proficient mathematical and cashiering skills. Must be able to complete detail work and multiple tasks simultaneously. Must possess a strong aptitude of computers and system operations. Knowledge of Microsoft Office based software including Word and Excel required. Ability to type 45 wpm. Ability to diffuse and deal with stressful situations, use discretion due to information involved, and maintain confidentiality of department records and information. Must have strong verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively and courteously with public and others. Ability to use independent judgement in problem solving with minimal supervision, yet recognizing limitations of authority and responsibilities in a team-oriented environment. Certified as a notary, preferred.


Salary range $16.48 - $18.65
