COUNTY ADMIN - HR GENERALIST HEALTH & WELLNESS



POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Provides HR Generalist assistance to County Administration staff, Elected and Appointed Officials and County employees. Assists with the development of policy and conducts human resource activities such as employment compensation, labor relations, benefits, training and employee services. Provides analysis for various HR functions. Serves as a liaison between employees, benefit providers and Third-Party Administrators and provides analytical research and recommendations necessary for the administration of the Peoria County Health Insurance Plans and Wellness programs. Implements programs as designated by the Director of Human Resources. Performs the duties of the other HR Generalists as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of a four-year degree from an accredited college or university and three to five years of Human Resources experience OR an equivalent combination of training and experience. SHRM certification preferred. Experience administering employer sponsored health and wellness plans. Working knowledge of Human Resource laws and regulations including but not limited to Affordable Care Act, HIPAA, FMLA, and Worker’s Compensation. Accounts payable/receivable experience preferred. Strong proficiency with Microsoft software products, including Excel, Word, Power Point, and Mail, etc. including database management. Ability to operate various equipment (personal computer, copy machine, fax machine, multi-line phone, calculator, printers, etc.) Proven communication skills including oral and written to effectively work with all levels of management, employees, elected officials, and outside agencies. Ability to make presentations to various groups as necessary. Problem solving skills, analytical skills and effective organizational skills are essential to this position. Demonstrated ability to work efficiently under conditions of multiple deadlines and changing priorities to produce a large volume of material with attention to detail. Proficiency in accurate data entry with no errors to ensure effectiveness of system. Ability to use independent judgment in problem solving with minimal supervision.
Ability to maintain confidentiality due to the sensitive and confidential issues handled by the County Board and County Administration
