The pay for this position ranges from 37.87/hr - 58.71/hr. This is a Salaried position.
Overview
POSITION SUMMARY: The Assistant Professor (doctorally prepared) is a member of the academic faculty entrusted with the development, implementation, evaluation, and optimization of the College of Nursing's program(s) curriculum. The Assistant Professor assists in the development of the Nurse Practitioner (NP) curriculum, identification, and monitoring of clinical sites for student practice and design of standardized patient scenarios. Serves the college, its students, faculty, staff, the profession, and community and is expected to participate and contribute to nursing scholarship through research activities, presentations, or publications. Each faculty member is expected to abide by and promote the mission, philosophy, and expected outcomes of the college and its programs within the philosophy framework and policies of OSF Healthcare and the College Board.

Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Doctorate - Graduate degree in nursing with a FNP specialty and PhD in Nursing or DNP
- Experience: 1 year of experience as an APN; 2 years of experience in clinical nursing practice. Teaching experience
- Licensure/ Certifications: Board certified as an FNP Current CPR APN – Advanced Practice RN; RN - Registered Nurse
- Other skills/knowledge: Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software; Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience: 3 years of experience as a FNP in full spectrum of family practice
- Other: Record of refereed paper/posters at professional meetings.
- Record of refereed publications.
- Evidence of continued self-development within profession.
- Knowledge of teaching/learning theories and curriculum design.
- Record of scholarly presentations or publications
- Behavior reflecting “Code of Ethics for Nurses" American Nurses Association, 2008 Strong communication and organizational skills
