Expected pay for this position is $29.01 - $34.13/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.


Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: The Certified Pastoral Care Professional - HC is an integral part of a Pastoral Care team that embraces a model of care for the whole person – body, mind and spirit. Directed to the spiritual dimensions of the human person that are often appreciated more deeply during times of illness, pastoral care is an integral part of the patient care team. Certified Pastoral Care Professionals are effectively integrated with patient care and family support services on patient care throughout OSF. The Certified Pastoral Care Professional is the spiritual care specialist and provides spiritual and emotional support and counseling to patients, families, and staff in accordance with OSF policy, mission and objectives.


Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Master's degree from an accredited college, university, seminary or divinity school in theology, divinity, religious studies, pastoral ministry, pastoral studies, or spirituality, or related field of study. Experience: Three years’ pastoral care experience in a healthcare setting.

Successful completion of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) Residency or equivalent units of CPE from an OSF approved CPE provider.

Licensure/ Certification: Board Certification by an OSF approved certifying body.

Valid State driver’s license.

Own vehicle and Auto Insurance.

Other Skills/ Knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.

analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.

Successful completion of the ICHA/NCBC Course for Chaplains on the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services (ERDs) as required by the local Diocese within six months of hire.

Solid standing in the Church through ecclesiastical endorsement.

Must meet requirements of the local Catholic Diocese regarding the appointment pastoral care staff of a Catholic healthcare institution.

Ability and desire to work with patients/family, clergy, staff and volunteers of varying faith backgrounds. Ability to articulate the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Facilities.

Flexibility in work hours, programs, and services and the ability to take on-call shifts nights and weekends as needed.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience: Five years’ pastoral care experience in a healthcare setting.

One year experience with palliative care or hospice.

Licensure/ Certification: Advance Practice Certifications.
