Overview


POSITION SUMMARY: ​The Compliance Officer – Fraud and Abuse manages the organization-wide programs focused on maintaining compliance with the Stark Law, the Anti-Kickback Statute and other fraud and abuse laws for OSF HealthCare, one of the best employers in the country, according to Fortune magazine.

The Compliance Officer is responsible for:

  • Serving as the trusted organization-wide expert on the application of the federal and state fraud and abuse laws.
  • Guiding and supporting operational areas in embedding adherence to the fraud and abuse laws in day-to-day departmental and individual decisions and actions.
  • Overseeing the compliance aspects of office leases, medical directorships and other compensation arrangements with physicians and physician practices.
  • Providing guidance on the compliance features of fair market valuation and determination of commercial reasonableness.
  • Keenly understanding operational objectives, challenges and processes.
  • Collaborating with the Clinical, Real Estate, Accounting, Marketing and Legal Services teams.

The Compliance Officer’s role is focused on:

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Must have either a Master's Degree or Juris Doctor

Experience:

  • 2 years experience in Compliance, Audit, Healthcare, Business or Area of Focus being recruited.

Other skills/knowledge:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Certification in healthcare compliance, privacy, audit or assigned area of focus
