Pay range for this position is $36.68 - $54.40/hour. Actual pay is based on years of licensure. This is an Hourly position.
Overview
POSITION SUMMARY: The Coordinator RN Radiation Oncology Special Procedures protects, promotes, and restores health and wellness by practicing at the highest level of licensure; collaborating with providers and multidisciplinary care team members to provide care coordination across the continuum. Maintains responsibility for organizing and maintaining patient flow for patients having special radiation oncology procedures and treatments. Schedules and organizes weekly clinics and pre-op visits, schedules radiation oncology procedures, maintains records, and provides direct care of the patient. Assesses and supports physical symptoms, provides psychological support to patients, friends, and families, mentors assigned team members, promotes best practices, and maintains professional disposition at all times. The Coordinator is actively involved in pre-certification to ensure approval of procedures and payment for procedures, including reviewing assigned patient accounts to ensure all insurance and billing information is complete and correct. Provides in person pre-op education to patient, including reviewing pre-test results. Makes appropriate referrals based on pre-test results.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Associates
- Licenses/Certifications: RN-Registered Nurse
- Experience: 2 years of clinical nursing experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- License/Certifications: Oncology Nurse Certification
- Other requirements/information: Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care appropriate to the age of the patients served, including knowledge of the principles of growth and development as well as the physical, emotional and psycho-social needs of the patient population served Interpersonal skills necessary in order to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, technologists and other Medical Center personnel when explaining procedures and gathering and exchanging patient-related information
