Expected pay for this position is $17.00-$18.89/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skill, and internal equity.
Overview
This job is located in Peoria,IL
5 x 8 hour shifts (7a-3:30pm)
POSITION SUMMARY: The department clerk performs secretarial duties utilizing knowledge of medical terminology and hospital procedures, providing clerical support for the pre-admission process for patients with a wide variety of surgical and procedural diagnoses. Compiles and records medical charts, reports, and correspondence using the electronic medical record (EMR). Answers telephones, maintains files and orders departmental supplies.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED. Other skills or knowledge: Working knowledge of medical terminology Strong Communication Skills Basic Computer Skills Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft explorer, preferably with the minimum of 45 wpm. Analytical ability to prioritize workload.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 6 months experience in a hospital/office setting
