The hourly rate for this position is $17.00/hour This is an Hourly position.

This role is ideal for students who are passionate about creating thoughtful, inclusive design systems and want hands-on experience in a collaborative health care setting.

Student will be working fall semester 2025; 20 hours week. (May offer to work hybrid remote to student that is local to Peoria)

POSITION SUMMARY: Work with the digital marketing UX team to help build the foundation for a consistent, accessible and scalable design system across our digital ecosystem. As a UX Design Intern, you’ll contribute directly to the development and refinement of our enterprise design system. Your work will support real-world projects and empower teams throughout our division to deliver thoughtful, cohesive digital experiences.

• Enhance and refine existing components within our design system, adding interaction and motion where appropriate
• Evaluate components for accessibility and alignment with WCAG guidelines
• Define and document content best practices, including tone, structure, character counts, and text behavior inside components
• Create and maintain detailed documentation in Figma and/or companion guides
• Build components accurately and annotate them across responsive breakpoints
• Collaborate closely with UX designers, content strategists and developers

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Junior or senior in college pursuing a bachelor’s degree in User Experience Design or a related discipline
• Proficiency in Figma
• Strong attention to detail and interest in systems thinking
• A foundational understanding of accessibility principles
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote or hybrid team environment
