Expected pay for this position is $29.30 - $34.47/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is a Salaried position.
Overview
POSITION SUMMARY: Provides counseling services to students at the College of Nursing (CON). Assists students in their adjustment at the College of Nursing. Works with students seeking counseling by interviewing, assessing, and developing plans of intervention. Works with students, faculty and staff and develops various types of group programs to meet their needs. Serves as a resource to students, faculty and staff.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Master's degree in college student personnel counseling, counseling, or licensed clinical social worker.
Licenses/Certifications: Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor or Professional Counselor license
Experience: 2 to 3 years of progressively more responsible work experience counseling patients or students in order to identify needs and to develop expertise in assessing and counseling students.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of counseling theory and techniques, assessment and evaluation, individual and group counseling/training, and community resources. Interpersonal skills necessary to interview students and assess their psycho-social needs, conduct counseling sessions, and develop structure training programs. Analytical skills necessary to assess students' psycho-social problems and develop solutions to same.
