Expected pay for this position is $20.21 - $23.77/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.
Overview
HYBRID POSITION
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Health Information Management Services (HIMS) Department is a support group for the OSF Ministry Services. The HIMS Trainer educates department support staff on how to sort, file, enter discrete medical information, and index medical records into the Epic Electronic Medical Record System primarily via Solarity. The HIMS Trainer will work in a team-based environment but also work independently. The HIMS Trainer will also need to maintain spreadsheets for reporting as required. The HIMS Trainer will make recommendations and work with the Director and Supervisors to increase operational efficiency. The HIMS Trainer is expected to meet department standards for production, accuracy, reporting, and proper time management.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High school diploma or GED
Experience: 3 years of computer experience, including Excel and other Microsoft applications, in a professional or educational setting and 2 years of training experience in small and large group settings.
Other skills/knowledge:
• Typing skills at a professional level
• Positive communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to be flexible in an ever-changing department
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, critical thinking skills, data entry, proofreading, and accuracy.
Licensure/Certifications: N/A
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience: 1 year of healthcare experience.
Other skills/knowledge:
• Knowledge of Medical & Surgical Terminology, as well as a working knowledge of CPT/ICD-10 Coding.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and medical record laws.
