Job Specifics
This is a full-time position.
The Attending Dentist accepts the responsibility as educators to create a learning environment and facilitate the development of dental residents.
The Attending Dentist will provide learning activities that will encourage intellectual inquiry, critical analysis, and self-directed and independent learning, implementation of an ongoing comprehensive evaluation program to assess resident learning and teaching effectiveness to ensure a quality program.
Responsibilities of an attending dentist include but are not limited to supervising dental residents, reviewing treatment plans, managing treatment plans and care with the residents and hygienists, completing resident evaluations, providing education, etc.
Attending's should be comfortable in all fields of dental including hygiene, restorative, fixed and removable prosthodontics, endodontics, oral surgery, and be proficient in reading radiographs. It is preferred that the attending dentist is comfortable treating patients in a Hospital setting.
Attending dentist may be assigned to take hospital call with the residents.

- Full time, clinical base salary pay range for this position: $190,000-$219,317 + additional Director salary.
- Range shown should be used as an estimate and can be impacted by many factors including but not limited to the critical need of the position, overall experience and qualifications, community need, and other considerations. Additional compensation components may be applicable such as bonuses or incentives which may or may not be based on metric achievement.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Completion of a DDS or DMD degree • Current State of Illinois Dentist License, Controlled Substance license and Federal DEA license • Have previously served as a General Practice Residency program Director for at least 6 months or have completed an accredited General Practice Residency program. • Exceptional leadership skills to establish expectations for the program operation, the academic and clinical programs. • Interpersonal skills necessary in order to deal effectively and courteously with a diverse group of individuals. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • 6 months to a year of previous experience as a Director of a General Practice Residency program • Experience in working with emergent cases in an O.R. setting.
