This is a remote work from home position, must reside in IL or MI. Would need to be able to travel to the office for training and other required, rare occasions.- Occasional in office attendance will be required.
Remote after 90 day training in Peoria is successfully completed.
Expected pay for this position is $23.35/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Patient Financial Navigator Lead ensures that each patient has a complete and accurate OSF financial record. The Patient Financial Navigator Lead will educate and support the patient on their pre and post financial options. The Patient Financial Navigator Lead functions as a team resource on highly complex issues and problem resolution. Serves as a dedicated escalation point for multiple functional areas and determine the appropriate outside resources that are required to support escalation. This position has a significant understanding of the revenue cycle and the importance of evaluating and securing all appropriate financial resources for patients to maximize reimbursement to the Health System. Provides support to Patient Financial Navigators to ensure quality and efficiency of functions performed including mentoring, training, quality assurance, assists with screening of potential candidates, analyzing reports, auditing, account resolution, completion of department schedules and payroll/timekeeping. The Patient Financial Navigator Lead is expected to guide and support change and process improvement opportunities throughout the department and work with the department leadership to set standards, develop, and execute improvement plans.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience of 2 years in a healthcare or public health setting with one of a combination of the following: patient finance, insurance benefits, financial assistance programs, public health, social services, or other community based background.
Experience: Two years' experience in healthcare collection, financial counseling, insurance benefit verification and/or precertification, third party payor, Medicaid case work, admitting or billing experience One year experience with customer service/relations.
Other skills/knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software. Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor Degree in Business Administration or Healthcare related field.
Experience: Patient Registration or Patient Accounts. Advanced knowledge of CPT4, ICD9/10, HCPCS, and modifiers. Knowledge of medical terminology.
Licensure/Certifications: HFMA CRCR certification
Other requirements/information: Required to complete all role specific revenue cycle training and certification within 12 months. Meets requirements for internal Revenue Cycle Patient Access quality audits, competencies, productivity, performance, and adheres to the Standards of Performance.
