Expected pay for this position is $48.13 - $56.63/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Revenue Optimization Consultant leads chargemaster analysis and payer contract coding within contract analytics systems utilized by OSF to ensure fair charging practices and optimization of payer reimbursement. The Consultant executes timely, accurate charge-setting and contract coding to sustain the integrity of Ministry-wide profitability reporting. Additional responsibilities include payer contract auditing, ad-hoc modeling and analysis, report creation and presentation, and assistance with payer contract negotiations. The Consultant works closely with Finance, Revenue Cycle, and clinical teams to streamline processes and resolve reimbursement issues. Collaborates on various projects and is a trusted resource available to operational Mission Partners across the Ministry.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: 5 years of experience in healthcare financial operations, healthcare financial analysis, or healthcare reimbursement
Other Skills/ Knowledge:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
- Thorough knowledge of billing, coding, and reimbursement procedures.
- Proficiency with data analysis tools and financial software (e.g. Microsoft Excel, Access, and Power BI). Proficiency in Healthcare Analytics tools or comparable data mining software.
- Capable of collecting, interpreting, and converting data into actionable insights that support informed decision-making.
- Demonstrates keen attention to detail and precision.
- Effective communication and presentation skills. Self-motivation, independent decision-making, and excellent organizational skills.
- Able to maintain focused and efficient with minimal supervision, regularly seeks feedback, and adapts well to changing situations and priorities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Licensure/ Certification: Certification in Epic Resolute Hospital Billing Expected Reimbursement Contracts Administration and annual re-education.
Other Skills/ Knowledge:
- Experience with Stratajazz Contract Analytics and Strategic Pricing, or related software.
- Understanding of healthcare regulations and reimbursement policies.
