Expected pay for this position is $37.99 - $49.72; base pay offered may increase based on experience, skills and internal equity.

OSF will invest in you on day 1! Candidates with 5+ years of direct experience will receive 24 hours of Vacation and Holiday time that will be available for use beginning day 1. This is in addition to our generous time-off benefits.

Employees who participate in the 11/12 program receive a 40% premium on their base pay rate for all hours worked between 7:00 pm Friday and 7:30 am Monday. Other hours worked outside of this weekend time-frame are paid at the regular base rate. PTO and other paid benefit time is also paid at the regular base rate.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The ultrasound technologist performs diagnostic sonographic examinations. The ultrasound technologist utilizes ultrasonic equipment in various modes and techniques to locate, evaluate and record pertinent anatomical, pathological, and functional patient data to obtain high quality diagnostic imaging in a safe and timely manner, as ordered by providers. As part of the multidisciplinary team, the ultrasound technologist provides care for patients and their support systems, while paying special attention to appropriate criteria such as age and other patient specifics. The ultrasound technologist performs patient intakes through collection of medical history and must be able to answer patient questions regarding the imaging procedure. The ultrasound technologist follows specific instructions from providers on what areas to image, while guiding patients through the imaging process safely and comfortably. The ultrasound technologist may also confer with providers on the results of imaging tests and collaborate to determine whether additional sonography is required.


Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Illinois: Eligible for registration as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer or Registered Vascular Technologist

- Michigan: Certified and currently registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).

- Must be registered in OB or AB within 24 months of eligibility

- Professional level of knowledge of ultrasound techniques and procedures at a level that generally is acquired by completion of 2 years training in Radiology Technology or equivalent, plus an additional year training in Ultrasonography

- Must take registry exam within 6 months of employment and pass within 1 year

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Up to 12 months of prior related clinical experience to be able to independently perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures, equipment operation, and to gain knowledge of patient care techniques.

Other skills/knowledge:

- Electronic Medical Record experience

- Microsoft application basic proficiency
