Expected pay for this position is $28.44 - $33.46/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.
The Pediatric Subspecialty Clinic dietician will support the Gastroenterology clinic. The dietician would provide support for the clinic providers and the pediatric patients being seen. The dietician will have time to see patients throughout the week and along with the provider if needed. This position is flexible in what works best for the patients, families, and the dietician.
POSITION SUMMARY:
A Clinical Dietitian is an expert in human nutrition and medical nutrition therapy. The Clinical Dietitian assesses nutritional status of patients based on their individualized needs and goals and develops and implements corresponding nutrition care plans. The role of the Clinical Dietitian is to evaluate current nutrition status, formulate interventions, reassess for changes and record ongoing nutritional progress. The Clinical Dietitian is an integral member of the interdisciplinary team, and helping patients and their support system to ensure patient-centered care is achieved.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics, Food Science or Nutrition
- Credentialed Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian eligible through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (Illinois and Michigan) or must become registered within 6 months of hire.
- Basic Microsoft application proficiency
Experience:
- Previous experience with patients in a group or individual setting
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and medical billing
Licensure/Certifications:
- Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist eligible (Illinois)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Licensure/Certifications:
- License Certified diabetes educator
Other skills/knowledge:
- 1 year experience working with patients in a group or individual setting
