Starting pay for this position is $16.83/hour.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Courier safely operates OSF HealthCare vehicles to provide prompt and accurate pickup, transportation, and delivery of various packages and parcel types, including laboratory specimens, medical supplies, mail and documents, pharmacy, and medical instruments. Maintains accurate records of route activity through manual and electronic documentation; utilizes a mobile device scanner in some settings for documentation and route operation.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Other Licenses/Certifications:
Current, valid driver's license, with 2 years of driving history
Experience:
1 year of prior work experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience:
Previous on-the-job driving experience, preferably in a healthcare setting
Experience with an electronic shipping system
Ability to multi-task
Effective time management
Other requirements/information:
Must be flexible, responsible, organized, detail oriented, and able to communicate in a professional, courteous manner with customers and co-workers
Position requires weekend and holiday rotation
Good sense of direction and ability to drive in all types of inclement weather
Ability to drive up to 350 miles per day in both urban and rural settings
Must load/unload boxes and packages up to 20 pounds on a frequent basis, up to 50 pounds on a daily basis
Basic computer skills and ability to utilize a handheld device/mobile applications
