POSITION SUMMARY: The Lead Advanced Practice Provider (APP) provides direct patient care to assigned patients within an urgent care setting using specialized knowledge, critical thinking, good judgment, and excellent customer service skills. In addition to patient care, the Lead APP reviews and monitors clinical quality for a group of APPs in coordination with the medical director and clinical directors. The Lead will also work with medical staff and leadership throughout the clinic(s) and OSF. Conducts regularly occurring meetings to facilitate information dissemination and support team engagement, participating in the design and implementation of APP practice quality/outcome indicators and facilitates consistent orientation processes and clinical practices across clinics. Works in a dyad model with the Manager Urgent Care and the Director of Operations for OSF OnCall Urgent Care.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Masters Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies Licenses/Certifications: State license as an APN or PA, if NP then RN is also required. Experience: 2 years of experience as an APP in a family practice setting, urgent care, emergency medicine, or related area Other skills/knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software. Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Other requirements/information: Knowledge of national medical best practices within an urgent care setting Proven ability to work independently, efficiently under pressure, and take initiative when needed
