Job Description

Overview

Expected pay for this position is $43.89 - $51.64/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Radiation Oncology Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and directing the activities of the department. Conducts, supervises and facilitates training of employees in Radiation Oncology procedures. Ensures provision of high quality services and compliance with department, Medical Center, and third-party requirements. Responsible for ensuring adequate staffing and properly functioning equipment. Administers and assists in development of section budget.


Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

-Radiology Registration with ARRT as a Radiation Therapist or Radiology Technologist.

- Radiology License with IEMA.

- Knowledge of radiation therapy procedures, equipment operation, patient care techniques at a level acquired through an approved program in radiation therapy technology or experience working within a radiation oncology department.

- Interpersonal skills necessary in order to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, allied health personnel, and other Medical Center personnel when explaining procedures and gathering and exchanging patient-related information.

- Analytical skills necessary in order to provide accurate care instructions to patients, interpret physicians' prescrip¬tions for treatment course and effectively duplicate treatment plan.

- Working knowledge of Health Radiation Safety technical operations including ALARA.

- Management and leadership quality.

- Analytical skills necessary in order to supervise and assist radiation oncology procedures, maintain properly operating equipment, schedule and assign department services, and resolve technical problems.

- Interpersonal skills necessary in order to direct and oversee work of subordinates, explain Medical Center and department policies and procedures, and communicate effectively with other Medical Center personnel when gathering and exchanging information.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

-Bachelor’s degree.
