3rd shift; Monday-Friday; 10:00pm-6:00am; shift starts Sunday Night
Expected pay for this position is $26.46 - $31.13/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.
Shift differential of $2.75 will be offered to work 3rd shift night schedule.
POSITION SUMMARY: Operates and maintains stationary engines and mechanical equipment, compressors, generators and steam boilers, to provide for utilities, such as light, heat and power for refrigeration, air conditioning and other services for the hospital. This position requires detailed knowledge of and the ability to operate and maintain the facility’s major mechanical systems, i.e. heating, cooling, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, communication, and fire protection.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or GED equivalent is required.
Technical training from an accredited school or apprenticeship program for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, or other construction trades is preferred. This may be waived by one year of previous commercial boiler plant experience and/or healthcare maintenance operations.
Requires a valid State driver’s license.
May be required to obtain and maintain boiler operator licenses or other certifications as specifically required by State or local authorities. Analytical skills necessary to recognize, diagnose, and, within limits, repair equipment and system malfunctions.
Understand verbal and written instructions and to give readily understood information in both verbal and written forms.
Reading and writing is essential for this position.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge and experience with arc and oxyacetylene welding and burning is preferred.
