Expected pay for this position is $30.58 - $35.98/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Tax Accountant will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of income tax compliance, including federal and state, tax planning activities and completing other projects as directed. This person will work closely with the Tax Analyst who is responsible for the Ministry’s tax compliance, processes, and accounting. In executing the responsibilities required by this position the Tax Accountant interacts with a variety of accounting, finance, and operations personnel throughout the organization. In addition, the Tax Accountant will be responsible for various tasks such as account reconciliations, monthly close activities, internal and external audit requests, cost report requests, and other projects related to tax.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business
- Experience: 2 years of Accounting experience
Other Skills/ Knowledge:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in finance, accounting (including GAAP), and effective internal controls.
- Demonstrated strong project management and organizational skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience: Tax experience with IRS and State of Illinois regulations related to exempt and non-exempt organizations.
- In-depth understanding of the healthcare industry, trends, issues, risks, etc. L
