POSITION SUMMARY:
- Performing comprehensive neurological assessments and evaluations for patients with epilepsy and seizure disorders.
- Collaborating with neurologists, neurosurgeons, and other specialists to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with epilepsy.
- Prescribing and monitoring antiepileptic medications and other therapies, such as vagus nerve stimulation (VNS), responsive neurostimulation (RNS), or ketogenic diet.
- Educating patients and families about epilepsy, seizure types, triggers, prevention, safety, and self-management.
- Providing follow-up care and support to patients with epilepsy, including managing seizures, breakthrough seizures, and seizure emergencies.
- Participating in quality improvement initiatives and research projects related to epilepsy care.
- Position is Monday-Friday working both with inpatient and outpatient settings

Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- A master’s or doctoral degree in nursing or physician assistant studies from an accredited program.
- A current license to practice as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant in the state of Illinois.
- A certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) as an adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioner (AGACNP), or a certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) as a physician assistant (PA).

Preferred Qualifications
- A minimum of two years of clinical experience in neurology, preferably in epilepsy.
- A strong knowledge of evidence-based guidelines and best practices in epilepsy care.
