OPEN TO ICC CNA STUDENTS ONLY
This is an education stipend opportunity. Upon completion of the ICC CNA program, education stipend recipients will enter a Patient Care Technician, or other role requiring a CNA certification at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Patient Care Technician functions as a member of the Patient Care Team and provides appropriate safe basic care to patients. Cares provided are determined based on the ages of the patients served. Basic care includes taking vital signs, assisting patients with activities of daily living, specimen collection, and observation of patients for physical/emotional changes. Other duties include recording pertinent information in patient charts, communicating with other Patient Care Team members to ensure continuity of care, and functioning as a Behavioral Health Monitor. Behavioral health Monitors are responsible for providing safe, appropriate, and timely monitoring of the medical patient. Duties may vary according to department expectations and needs.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
To qualify for this education stipend, recipients must enroll in the ICC CNA Program. Recipients will have a 2 year work commitment to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center working as a Patient Care Technician. The required qualifications for our Patient Care Technicians are as follows:
- CNA-Certified Nurses Assistant
- CPR American Heart Association HealthCare Provider BLS
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Six months experience in a clinical healthcare environment
- Six months experience in supporting physical, emotional and psycho-social needs of patients
