Job Summary: 

Analyst will perform gross margin analysis, provide support for P&L planning, and track and test key pricing assumptions, to provide continuous feedback for future pricing activities.  The candidate will be responsible for ongoing monitoring of contract performance and will develop and maintain as-priced vs. actual performance of municipal aggregation supply contracts.  Additionally, the analyst will perform ad-hoc analysis of East region COGS forecasts and reporting to help understand pricing trends and to identify and explain changes in supply costs that impact East region margin performance.  As part of the Portfolio Optimization team, the candidate with work with Accounting, Operations, Finance, Load Forecasting, and Supply & Trading groups to produce and improve customer and load forecasts and the associated supply cost impacts of changing forecasts and forward energy curves.

 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain aggregation contract performance models
  • Analyze and produce customer churn metrics and pricing assumptions
  • Support pricing and forecasting activities related to aggregation RFP responses
  • Coordinate hedging and forecasting activities with market operations and load forecasting for new aggregation wins
  • Create and maintain reporting for unique contract provisions, including voluntary green offerings and pass-through cost elements; support REC retirement process
  • Perform ad-hoc COGS analysis, as required by the Portfolio Management group
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Working Conditions:

  • Fully Remote
  • No Travel

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Finance, Economics, Engineering undergraduate degree
  • 2+ years of energy industry experience, Advanced computer skills, including strong Excel skills.  SQL proficiency / experience a plus

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the following areas preferred:
    • Energy pricing and contracting
    • Load forecasting or financial forecasting
    • Energy risk management, including mark-to-market accounting
    • Settlements accounting

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to process information from a variety of sources, understand key insights, and ability to identify key drivers of performance
